I can just here what they are REALLY thinking…
“Screw performance marketing where we can actually MEASURE stuff”…”Let’s blow a bundle on Superbowl branding!” Sounds like a brilliant idea right? I mean, it worked for, and…errr wait….Rumored at $2.4 million dollars per 30 second spot, that’s a helluva lotta pay-per-click ads. I seriously need to get more into brand advertising…actually having to justify where an adspend went and it’s performance is just too demanding. I’m much more interested in blowing a couple million on a cool 30-second sock puppet spot that will DEFINITELY increase my brand awareness despite the fact that half of America is taking a leak the ONE time it airs. Brilliant!
