If you're new here, you may want to learn more about me, introduce yourself or check out my best posts. Thanks for visiting!
I did a couple of interviews at SMX Advanced in Seattle that have recently been published. Thanks to Tom Schmitz, the Seattle SEO, for the interview on Voices of Search - You can check it out here We talked about professional career progression, industry history, and other internet marketing tips. The second interview is with Rhea Drysdale, of Less Everything (who does some awesome Ruby on Rails Development). Rhea’s interview with me is at Search Engine Journal - You can read the interview with Rhea here. Since I’m being shameless today, I also redesigned ToddMalicoat.com recently - which archives all interviews, mentions, etc. Wow - if my head gets any bigger, I’m not going to fit into my house soon.

I’ve spent the last three weeks compiling the master list of competitive webmaster tools. I don’t think I’ve worked this hard on something in quite some time, and it’s definitely the best presentation I’ve ever done. Currently at over 300 screenshot slides - It will likely go over 400. You won’t be let down with the session (or I’ll make it up to you personally if it sucks). You can signup here for Toronto or here for the shorter webinar version (2 hours) via MarketMotive. I’ll be covering the best tools I know for:

Just a quick note - if you’ll be in Seattle, I’ll be speaking on Buying Old Sites for SEO. I’ll also be doing an SES Training session on SEO Tools in Toronto. It’s a 4 hour presentation, and it’s taken me about 2 solid weeks to put together the presentation (over 300 slides!). If you’re in either city, be sure to drop me a line somewhere and we can catchup for a chat. Also let me know if you’re planning to be in San Francisco for SMX Local July 24 an 25th (it’s my new stomping grounds!)

My buddy Brent over at Weird Asia News REALLY needs a redesign for his awesome content rich (yet amazingly fugly wordpress default edited) site. WAN has amazing stories, and gets tons of traffic, but frankly, it looks a bit like something your cat might cough up after a pretty gnarly hairball gagging spell. Enough ripping on the design, but just to make sure it gets an even better look, I’ll send Guitar Hero to the winner as well, because really…what would a playstation be without guitar hero (I might even come over to your house and thrash through Tom Morello and Knights of Cydonia for you). So what are you waiting for - go look at CSSZengarden for some killer inspiration, then go design that killer new wordpress template for WAN - you’ll also be getting a really link credit and exposure to help seriously launch your own efforts. Check out the contest here!

I spent about 45 minutes talking with David Flowers about a variety of topics including seo consulting, linkbaiting, social media marketing, and a variety of other SEM topics. I think it came out pretty nicely, and David had some great questions. You can listen to the interview here.
