Job Description
InvestorGuide.com is seeking a web developer/designer to create, modify and support our dynamic and database-driven web pages using scripting languages. Other responsibilities of the position include improving operational efficiencies company-wide by creating and implementing technical solutions learned by researching and understanding emerging technologies. Ideal candidates should be capable of fulfilling many project requirements simultaneously. Some recent projects completed under this position include implementation, coding and programming of the Research Assistant, a stock research and portfolio tracking tool on InvestorGuide.com (located in the lower left hand corner of the homepage); developing a flexible and adaptable database schema in MySQL for InvestorGuide University; and overall website, page and layout design for BusinessDictionary.com.
Job Qualifications
-B.S./B.A. in Computer Science, Information Sciences or a related field from a top university
-Cumulative GPA of at least 3.4
-Extensive knowledge of CSS, XHTML, and HTML
-Experience with at least one web scripting language (preferably classic ASP or PHP)
-Knowledge of web standards and user-oriented design
-Knowledge of SQL Server database design, configuration and performance tuning
-Experience maintaining IIS on a Windows Server with attention to security and performance tuning
Also Desirable:
-Experience with XML/XSL
-Experience scripting in Linux/Unix environment
-Knowledge of Photoshop and Graphics
-Strong quantitative and analytical skills
-Desire to work with other talented people in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
-Willingness to contribute to the business in non-technical areas
