Quick Update – Moved to San Francisco and Interview

Online marketing information can change quickly This article is 6 years and 107 days old, and the facts and opinions contained in it may be out of date.

It’s been quite a while since I wrote much of value – but Gab Goldberg did an interview with a few of us at SMX Santa Clara (or more was invited to listen to Me, Rae, and Michael BS’ing in the bar having a few beers.) Gab has really done some nice work on his site – including the Independent Webmaster’s Manifesto which is a really great piece you should check out. Most of all, I was impressed that he took the time to show us all the article first before posting. Thanks Gab for taking the time to do things the right way. In other news – I just got moved to the west coast. Officially in San Francisco now for those that were curious.

Appreciate the kind words Todd – means a lot coming from a pro like you :D! And San Fran’s lucky to have you! If you ever decide to go diagonally across the continent here to Montreal, lemme know n we’ll go have a few more beers :D.

What? You didn’t want to move to Minnesota? With the snow and heat and weather rollercoasters, it’s the best.

The manifesto makes good points about how to market outside of google and it makes sense because I don’t use google to find great content.

Google isn’t really great at finding exceptional sites and content. Finding that kind of stuff requires following your nose.

Yeah, you start with a site on Google and then follow the links and get a sense of the conversation in that part of the web. Before long, you get on the scent of great content and you find the same person/site being referenced over and over again.

Of course, once you are on the site, it has to pass my own personal smell test.

If it passes, it’s part of my personal web. And sites it recommends get checked out.
