Mr. Ploppy’s Monday Morning Tool List Volume XII - Pay-per-click Tools

Pay-per-click is a fantastic way to drive and test traffic. A good PPC campaign is great for those who truly understand marketing. Do something. Test. If it works. Do more of it. If it doesn’t - do less. Easy right? It boggles my mind when someone tells me they can’t afford PPC . You really can’t afford NOT to do it…you’re competitors are doing it, and they are learning from it. Do a little yourself. Start slow with low volume specific keywords and LEARN from it. Keep reading and figure out how it works before you start big spends or hiring someone else to do it. Arm yourself with an education.

Tracking conversions and other important metrics from a PPC campaign and applying what works to SEO can make your SEO campaign like picking cherries. Find what works the quick and easy way, and then duplicate it. Current generalized estimates claim that natural search will drive 3 x to 4x the traffic as PPC. SEO, however, takes MUCH longer and has much more risk involved. PPC make great testing beds for gathering information and providing highly valuable feedback nearly immediately. Tools are getting more sophisticated all the time for management, creation, optimization, and tracking of campaigns.

In my opinion, second tier PPC engines are moste generally a flop. In my experience, NONE of them have been worthwhile enough to spend the time and cost to justify the return. Stick with the top two, and make sure to test and learn from your campaigns. Now go gather some of that invaluable information!
