Link Shadow – How long is a link valuable?

Online marketing information can change quickly This article is 19 years and 12 days old, and the facts and opinions contained in it may be out of date.

Link ShadowI really should do more research on this, but the question that has been in the back of my mind for some time is “how long is a link valuable”? More specifically, if it takes 3 days, 3 weeks, 3 months for a link to SHOW value in the search engines after it is posted…does it take 3 days, 3 weeks, 3 months to STOP being valued after it is removed? What about a link that is placed until it receives value and then removed? How long would the value last? I don’t really have the means or dataset to test this at this point, but I have some working theories. Wondering if anyone else has worked with this. It may be another criteria to add for the valuation of text link purchase. I guess common sense would dictate that if it takes an SE a certain amount of time to “see” a link and give value for it, it would take a certain amount of time to “see” that the link was gone and devalue it. The question is…what is the halflife of link shadow?
