The .com Superbowl Ads are Back - Godaddy and CareerBuilder TV Ads - .brilliant
I can just here what they are REALLY thinking..."Screw performance marketing where we can actually MEASURE stuff"..."Let's blow a bundle on Superbowl branding!" Sounds like a brilliant idea right? I mean, it worked for Pets.com, Computer.com and Epidemic.com...errr wait....Rumored at $2.4 million dollars per 30 second spot, that's a helluva lotta pay-per-click ads. I seriously need to get more into brand advertising...actually having to justify where an adspend went and it's performance is just too demanding. I'm much more interested in blowing a couple million on a cool 30-second sock puppet spot that will DEFINITELY increase my brand awareness despite the fact that half of America is taking a leak the ONE time it airs. Brilliant!
