They are only pixels!!! Yes they are pretty, YES, they are green, and YES they CAN sometimes help your rankings. You can also be severely ripped off. This forum thread meant as a joke demonstrates just how easy it is to turn a page into a PR7, PR8, or in this case even a PR10!
You remember that PR7 link you just paide 5k for a 6 month subscription for? Well, you shouldn’t have listened to the amateur SEO who said it was a great idea. Come to find out, it was a 301 redirect to another site, that just made the site APPEAR to have high PR. This bug has been around for a while, but it is worth educating yourself on if you actively purchase links. Don’t buy links for PageRank. Buy links for their inherent value.
