Overdue SES San Jose Post

So earlier this month, I went to a “search engine strategies” conference in San Jose, CA. It was a good time, and I learned lots of stuff from some of the great people that I met there. It is really amazing how small the search engine community is. It is getting larger, but even the folks who are well accomplished and making very respectable incomes from SE related activity, haven’t been around all THAT long. It really makes the industry quite a friendly one for the most part. People know others more by their online reputation than anything else. There is A LOT of business that gets done at these conferences as well. You get a much better feeling for what people are truly knowledgeable of, and also what their motivations are.
Overall, it was a very enjoyable time. I will say that I enjoy the Pubcon atmosphere a bit more, as it is less clouded by corporate BS. Thanks to Danny Sullivan for putting together a great show (and Werty for taking pictures). Keep an eye out for the WebmasterWorld Pubconference in mid-november in Las Vegas, and don’t miss SES San Jose next year.
