$2.3 Billion in Internt Advertising - New Quarterly Record!

The IAB reports this good news. With the incredible relative returns on investment for advertisers, Internet ad spending budgets are destined to only increase. As tracking and creatives improve these trend are likely to stay (of course I am biased).

With the improving capabilities of local search and Internet advertising technology, there is a world of opportunity open to good SEO's and SEM's. Whenever I hear someone say that the economy is still bad, I have a a little chuckle, and think to myself "THEIR economy is bad." Many times, these are the same folks who are reluctant to divert a bit of their yellow page/ billboard/ radio/ television/ or print spending to the web. Wake up and smell the silicone folks!

5/24/2004: "Interactive Advertising Bureau (IAB) and PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) announced that Internet advertising totaled nearly $2.3 billion in the first quarter of 2004 - the highest quarterly total on record since PwC and IAB began tracking revenues in 1996. "
