False Advertising? or Marketing Genius? Bring Bill Gates Back to Life.

A search for "cloning" on Google returns the above results. This site APPEARS on the surface to be the first group to offer human cloning. While the concept is nearly believable (and probably almost upon us), the site is for an upcoming movie. Previous movies have released sites that APPEARED to be "real", but had disclaimers (Minority Report for one), but this site does not even have a disclaimer. The creators are attempting to capitalize on viral marketing, counting on the fact that people like me will mention it somewhere (and I played right into their twisted little conspiracy). While it is great to see companies take a gamble with new methods of marketing, it could be misleading to the casual viewer. While half-truths are fairly commonplace on the web, this really borders on false advertising in some regards. By the way, did you know Bill Gates is Dead??. Check out the Godsend Institute, and while you're at it, see BK's attempt at viral marketing with the "subservient chicken", which is currently in the top 20,000 websites according to Alexa Data. Some people may ask why BK would spend money on something that seemingly doesn't sell more whoppers, it puts the BK name in the public eye probably much more inexpensively than several hundred national TV ads announcing that BK is still around selling chicken and burgers (which is probably about the exposure level of this campaign). Way to think outside of the burger wrapper BK marketing guy. If only they could make decent food now.
